What Is Takeout in Horse Racing?
In pari-mutuel wagering on horse racing, takeout is the commission removed from the betting pool by the host track to cover prize money and their expenses. The takeout percentage varies by wager type and track, usually between 14% and 18% for Win pools. Lower takeout means higher payouts for bettors and the best payout is AmWager’s 0% takeout!
How Takeout Rates Are Set?
Every track has its own takeout rules. When AmWager runs a 0% Takeout promotions, we pay that cost to the host track, but also refund it back to our bettors and pay all winning tickets as if there was no takeout. AmWager customers get a payout equal to what they would have received if 100% of the pool was paid out.
What Is a 0% Takeout Promotion?
AmWager cannot control the payout of track’s races so a host track will pay out prices immediately after a race goes official with takeout applied. AmWager customs who bet a race with a 0% Takeout promotion will get the official track payout immediately after the race and also get an added bonus to their account to make up the difference between the actual payout and the payout you would have received if the takeout had been 0%.
