Hippodrome de Graignes
Hippodrome de Graignes is a horse-racing track in Graignes-Mesnil-Angot, La Manche, France. It opened in 1945, at 25 Rue du Vieux Château.
History
The old Château racecourse is situated in Graignes in Manche, at at Rue de l’Hippodrome Graignes 50620 France, featuring Harness and Steeplechase racing types. It was founded in 1945 by Raymond Rigault (1910-2006), a former farmer. The racecourse gradually acquired a national reputation, hosting thirty-one meetings a year. Graignes also owes him a school for lads and jockeys, which opened in the early 1970s. Today, the racecourse hosts 30 annual trotting meetings.
Track Details
It is a trotting racecourse with a track of 1,034m long and 20 meters wide with a rope on the left, 4,200 meters obstacle course, panoramic restaurant with 400 seats, 100 boxes, and 2,500 parking spaces.
