The 2021 Queen Elizabeth

The Queen Elizabeth Grade 1 at the Keeneland Fall meet almost always draws a strong field with a few international stars or potential stars. This year is no exception. Willaim Haggas sends one, Aidan O’ Brien and son Donnacha send one each, Roger Attfield sends one from Canada and a few of our usual suspects are in there as well.

As hot as Brad Cox is and has been, and as deadly as he can be in Kentucky, I just can’t get to Burning Ambition. While she is bred, and also improving, this group looks too deep for her.

Technical Analysis is really coming into her potential. She can run and is also improving. She’d be no surprise, but I will take a shot against her in here. That said I would not talk anyone out of leaning on her.

Shantisara is where I land. I loved her last race and I think he slight cut back will help her be even stronger in the lane. Prat is on fire and she is obviously better on grass, and doesn’t need to bring her race course with her.

Empress Josephine adds blinkers and will take her share of support for Aidan and Johnny V who flopped with Order of Australia last weekend. Her replays are OK, not great, and I think a few in here are better.

Nicest is extremely dangerous at what should be a fair price. I like her replays and feel we have not seen her best yet. A must use in my opinion. She can easily be as good as any in here with only slight improvement.

Queen Goddess is on the improve. I am not sold she is this good, especially right now.

Lady Speightspeare ha some talent and I expect her in this early. I am not sold she can keep pace late however when the real running starts.

Flippant has the look of one who can get a piece but not win. I’d play her accordingly.

I’ll take Shantisara on top and key over a few exactas. I’ll use her and Nicest in multi race wagers leaning on Shantisara harder. They will both be on my Keeneland All Turf Pick 3, but one more than the other. You already know which one.
