The Bing Crosby 2025

The Bing Crosby at Del Mar on Saturday came up one of the more competitive races I can recall. The fact it is a Grade 1 Sprint with Breeders’ Cup implications run at the track which hosts the big event this year makes it more intriguing.
Of the 9 set to go you can probably make a case for 6 of them. That said I lean to just one.
I think Dr. Venkman is sitting on a big race Saturday. He is two for two sprinting at Del Mar and I have excuses for his last two races. Two back he couldn’t handle Nysos sprinting but not many can, and he was off a lay-off. Last out he was in an uncomfortable spot inside and between horses and I believe that kept him from his best race. The winner, Roll On Big Joe who is back here also got the jump on him, but I don’t think that will matter over this racetrack.
I see Fresu sitting in the catbird seat behind what looks to be plenty of speed and being a handful of horse in the stretch.
With all the action and good racing across the country on Saturday many people will spread their bankrolls around. I do not play that way. Whatever your bankroll may be I believe your best shot is to bet it on your best opinion. For example, if I have a $100 bankroll for Saturday, $75 of it goes in The Bing Crosby on Dr. Venkman. The remaining $25 is what I’ll play around with. I am of the opinion the type of money management is essential to being a successful horseplayer which is why we are here is it not?
Enjoy the races!
