The Grade 3 Royal Heroine

A very competitive field of 9 are set to compete in the Grade 3 Royal Heroine over the Santa Anita grass course.

We have done well the last few weeks with Encino and Silver Knott so we will see if we can keep rolling.

Miss Lizzy will break from the rail and she does bring it just about every time she runs. She does look a bit cheap for these and even her best is probably not good enough for the win. A slice of the pie wouldn’t surprise me.

I was high on Lakota Spirit in a few spots this year and she has run well but hasn’t been able to close the deal. She has more seconds than wins and I am running out of legit excuses for her.

Bellabel is the mare I like to win this. She can sit anywhere Fresu wants her, and she can finish and knows how to win. She fired fresh off a long lay-off then ran her only dud in the states. I can excuse that with the big race off the bench and I believe she’ll go forward here and run a big one.

Glenall looks in deep waters to me.

Justique never quite panned out and is still trying to put it all together. She likes the distance and may get a piece but that would be the ceiling in my view.

Irresistible Force may take these as far as she can. I doubt that would be wire to wire.

Uncorked is first time D’Amato and that alone warrants attention. I think she is a little light for these but if she improves maybe she can surprise at a likely underlaid price.

Stay and Scam will be entertaining Irresistible Force on the pace. She is game and in good form. She’ll have to get the mile to win and that is not out of reach. I like others more, but she would not shock me at all.

Fuente Ovejuna looks a cut below some if the others in here.

I’ll take Bellabel for the win and as a single on any multi race wagers. I think she is the most likely winner and anything close to the 5-1 morning line is more than fair in my view.
